Thomas Boto
Creator of Owlegories
Thomas Boto and his wife Julie and their four boys are the creators of Owlegories and the Owlegories app on which the animated series is based. They set out to create something unique that could involve their whole family. Thomas is from Texas, and Julie is from Alaska, so they wanted to blend their love for the outdoors with their love for Jesus.

They came up with an idea to use the elements of creation to teach their kids about God. Their first project was an interactive storybook app – and the whole family chipped in to help. Aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and even Thomas’ 87-year-old grandfather—contributed their voices for the original Owlegories app.

In 2014, after the success of the app, they started production on the Owlegories Animated Series and the Owlegories Memory Verse App. Thomas is a graduate of Baylor University and Liberty University School of Law. Thomas and Julie live in Texas with their four boys Austin, Everett, Gus, and Owen.

Thanksgiving
Each year, we take time from our busy lives to celebrate a day of Thanksgiving. Though many holidays have become secular celebrations, this holiday still retains much of its historic religious overtones.

A day of Thanksgiving was set aside by the Pilgrims who founded Plymouth Colony. Life was hard in the New World. Half of the Pilgrims died in the first terrible winter. After the first harvest was completed, Governor William Bradford proclaimed a day of Thanksgiving and prayer. By 1623, a day of fasting and prayer during a period of drought was changed to one of Thanksgiving because the rain came during their prayers. The custom prevailed in New England and eventually became a national holiday.

Thanksgiving Quiz
Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to gather as a family, but I also believe it can be a great time to teach our children and grandchildren about America’s godly heritage. I created this short quiz to be a conversation-starter around the Thanksgiving table.
