Cave of our Re-Birth
I’ve been thinking a lot on the fact that Jesus was born in a cave. Here is an expanded version of an article I wrote which was published last week at The Stream website: If you have set up your nativity scene by now you probably put the figures in a quaint, wooden stable.

Man sitting against bare wall
Darrin Patrick, a megachurch pastor, speaker, and author, died earlier this year. According to Seacoast Church, a multi-site megachurch in South Carolina where he was teaching pastor, he died of what appeared to be a “self-inflicted gunshot wound.” A longtime friend of Patrick noted that pastors often don’t know what to do when they struggle. Source: What does the Bible...

colossal-flaming-jack-o-lantern
By: Jim Denison – denisonforum.org – October 31, 2019 If Halloween is supposed to be frightening, the holiday came early for me last night. The Nationals defeated the heavily favored Houston Astros last night to bring Washington their first World Series title since 1924. As a native Houstonian, watching my team lose was painful. By: Christopher Corbett – stream.org – July 21, 2019 How can evangelical Christians support a so-called rogue like President Donald Trump? And more important, is our support for Trump destroying our witness for Christ? Trump critic Peter Wehner is Senior Fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center. He’s an evangelical with a conservative background, and someone I admire. He took...

Global network. Blockchain. Polygon mesh 3D illustration. Neural networks and artificial intelligence. Abstract technological background
By: S. Joshua Swamidass – wsj.com – May 9, 2019 As the technology advances, science and religion should each give the other its due. Science fiction often depicts artificial intelligence as technical minds embodied in humanlike bodies. Think Commander Data of “Star Trek: The Next Generation.” In reality, AI is mindless and usually disembodied. Yet it’s still important, and scientists shouldn’t be...

AI - mapping lines on head
By: Staff – erlc.com – April 11, 2019 Preamble As followers of Christ, we are called to engage the world around us with the unchanging gospel message of hope and reconciliation. Tools like technology are able to aid us in this pursuit. We know they can also be designed and used in ways that dishonor God and devalue our fellow image-bearers....

O-Little-Town-of-Bethlehem-by-Carol-Sheli-Cantrell2-1
By: Kerby Anderson – pointofview.net – December 18, 2018 It is almost Christmas week, and I thought it might be worthwhile to spend a moment to reflect on the words to the hymn, “O Little Town of Bethlehem.” It was written in 1867 by Phillips Brooks (an Episcopal pastor from Philadelphia). He had been in Israel two years earlier and...
