Cambridge Christian School Case
Government refuses to allow Christian students to pray over loudspeaker before championship football game

First Liberty represents Cambridge Christian School (CCS) against the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA). School officials asked the FHSAA to use the stadium loudspeaker to offer a pre-kickoff prayer before the state high school football championship game held at the Citrus Bowl against another private Christian school. The FHSAA forbade the school from praying over the loudspeaker.
Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, has released the following statement on today’s passage by the House of Representatives of H.R. 36, the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act:

“The House’s approval of the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act is a turning point. It clarifies which of our federal representatives are or are not willing to allow the infliction of excruciating pain on little children.

“The Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act declares that children in the womb who are at least 20 weeks old – and who, therefore, can feel pain – should not be dismembered, decapitated, or otherwise brutally killed. It’s that simple. Frankly, if a Member of Congress cannot support such a measure, he or she is unworthy of anyone’s trust or vote.
John Brooks Case
New York Nazirite Firefighter Singled Out for Religious Discrimination

Employees have a right to live according to their religious beliefs both on and off the job. John Brooks, a firefighter and paramedic in Utica, New York, just wants to be treated like every other firefighter in his department. He feels called to serve the people of Utica while also staying true to his convictions. In 2014, Brooks made a personal promise to God to live his life as a Nazirite based on instruction in the Biblical book of Numbers. This vow included a personal promise to God not to cut the hair of his scalp. Brooks considers his Nazirite vow one of the most important events of his life.
Prager University Sues Google and YouTube
“This is speech discrimination plain and simple, censorship based entirely on unspecified ideological objection to the message or on the perceived identity and political viewpoint of the speaker” - 36th Governor of California Pete Wilson Browne, George, Ross LLP

LOS ANGELES — Prager University (PragerU) has filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California to stop Google and YouTube from unlawfully censoring its educational videos and discriminating against its right to freedom of speech.

The lawsuit cites more than 50 PragerU videos which have either been “restricted” or “demonetized” by Google/YouTube. The PragerU videos range on various subjects presenting a conservative point of view, and include a video by noted Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz on the founding of Israel.
