Kerby is back and is the host of today’s show! His first guest is Konni Burton, a Texas state senator, she’ll talk about the upcoming elections. Next up is Ron Bryce, MD, an emergency room physician. He has a book comparing the body of Christ to our human ones. Kerby’s final guest is John Snyder. John’s new book, “Resenting God,” explores rediscovering God’s love and identity toward us when we face life’s most painful and depressing experiences and how to NOT play the blame game.

Texas Senator, District 10 - Texas State Senate
Senator Konni Burton is a wife, mom, and lifelong Christian.
Born in Kerrville, Konni was raised in the small south Texas town of Banquete, which consisted of little more than a school and a post office. Both her parents worked at the school: her father as the high school principal and her mother as the school secretary. Konni attended the University of North Texas, earning a BBA in Marketing. There she met her husband, Phillip, of thirty years.
A strong pro-life advocate, Konni and Phil have worked closely with The Gladney Center for Adoption in Fort Worth. The Burtons are proud parents of two “Gladney Babies,” Tori and Faith.
In 2014, Senator Burton won her first bid for elected office by capturing Senate District 10. Burton champions individual liberty, personal responsibility, and free market economics. She fights to prioritize tax dollars to core functions of state government, such as public education, transportation, water infrastructure, and public safety.

Ron Bryce
Medical Doctor - Dallas area E.R.
Ron Bryce, MD, is an emergency room physician in Dallas. He earned his medical degree in 1986 from Oral Roberts University School of Medicine. A former member of the ORU Alumni Association board, Bryce was honored as Alumnus of the Year by ORU in 2016. He is a member of the Christian Medical and Dental Associations, and served as CMDA’s Texas representative from 2011 to 2015.
A longtime Christian, Dr. Bryce has been a Sunday school teacher, church elder, and church musician, and during medical school played piano for a Southern gospel group. He has been a board member for GeoBound Missions as well as Abundant Life Missions, an organization started by his parents which focuses its efforts in Haiti. His community involvement has included serving as mayor of Red Oak, Texas. He was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to the Texas Medical Board and served from 2006 to 2012.

Bryce argues that by understanding what they are and living cooperatively with one another, the cells of the body of Christ can unite to fight off the diseases infecting the modern church, such as infighting, lack of charity, and lack of forgiveness.

Author Dr. John I. Snyder is a pastor and conference speaker. He has taught New Testament Studies at New College Berkeley, California, and has pastored and planted churches in California, New York, and Switzerland. As a counselor, he has walked with many through their times of heartbreak.
As an ordained pastor of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), John has served congregations in the United States and Europe. He is the advisor and lead author for theology and culture blog Theology Mix. Dr. Snyder has spoken at many conferences, churches, and retreats in the United States as well as Europe, and he has been involved in missions in Far East. Currently, John serves as a pastor, church planter, and speaker in Germany, Switzerland, and other countries in continental Europe. He and his family (wife Shirin and daughters Sarah and Stephanie) share their time between California and Europe.

Resenting God: Escape the Downward Spiral of Blame
In our current social climate of growing distrust and escalation of hatred and personal losses, resentment and anger are on the rise. Resenting God offers the time-tested exit route from the lethal clutches of bitterness into a life of joyful faith and hope in a loving and gracious God. It exposes how resentment and disillusionment, leading inevitably to other destructive emotions, is a great deluder and is itself often based upon a great delusion—resentment against the Creator himself. We are blamers, and we blame God for life’s most painful and depressing experiences.
Snyder discusses the causes and consequences of resentment, and the cures for resentment against God. Ultimately, the way out comes in knowing who God is and realizing that far from abandoning us in our hard times, he is the one who rescues us.
