Danny received his Bachelor of Arts in Education with a focus on High School History from the University of Puerto Rico and earned his Master’s degree in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary. A man of many talents, he’s worked in a variety of fields, ranging from radio to teaching to leather debossing and is fluent in Spanish. He and his family are active members of Grace Bible Church.

Danny joined the Act team in 2014 as a West Dallas Community Advocate and is now serving as the West Dallas Neighborhood Transition Manager, overseeing the transition of Act’s model in West Dallas from that of active casework to that of continued community leadership development and empowerment. Passionate about the power of the Gospel to transform lives and communities, he desires to see families and people live to their fullest potential, acting no longer in fear but with courage.
Elizabeth Wirmani
Sr. VP of Field Operations - ACT - Advocates for Community Transformation
Elizabeth graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Comparative Area Studies and earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Texas Law School. A bright, experienced lawyer, she is a former Act volunteer and came to Act from one of Act’s go to law firms, Baker Botts. She and her family are active members of Watermark Community Church.

Experienced in handling a litigation team and building community within law firms, she is responsible for overseeing the success of Act’s field teams in West and South Dallas, managing the teams with great care and wisdom. She also possesses savvy in conducting investigations and using sound judgment and sharp decision making skills regarding Act’s legal strategy in its target neighborhoods. A natural leader who has played an integral part in developing Act’s legal model, she is passionate about seeing men and women live in transformed and safe communities.

Alex Berenson was born in New York in 1973 and grew up in Englewood, N.J. After graduating from Yale University in 1994 with degrees in history and economics, he joined the Denver Post as a reporter. In 1996, he became one of the first employees at TheStreet.com, the groundbreaking financial news Website.

In 1999, he joined The New York Times. At the Times, he covered everything from the drug industry to Hurricane Katrina; in 2003 and 2004, he served two stints as a correspondent in Iraq, an experience that led him to write The Faithful Spy, his debut novel, which won the Edgar Award from the Mystery Writers of America for Best First Novel.

He has now written eleven John Wells novels and one work of non-fiction, The Number. He left the Times in 2010 to devote himself to writing fiction, though he still contributes occasionally to the Times.

Alex lives in Garrison, N.Y. with his wife, Dr. Jacqueline Berenson, their children Lucy and Ezra, their badly behaved dog Maggie, and Maggie’s dog Teddy.
