First up on today’s show we hear from Sandra Glahn, Th.M., PhD. Dr. Glahn is a professor in Media Arts and Worship at Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) and will talk about her new book, Vindicating the Vixens. It’s a look at the Sexualized, Vilified, and Marginalized Women of the Bible.

She served as the general editor of her most recent publication, Vindicating the Vixens: Revisiting Sexualized, Vilified, and Marginalized Women of the Bible (Kregel Academic).
She is a regular blogger at Engage, Bible.org’s site for women in Christian leadership, is the owner of Aspire Productions, and previously served as editor-in-chief for Kindred Spirit.
Dr. Glahn and her husband, Gary, live in the Dallas area.
Did the Samaritan woman really divorce five husbands in a world where women rarely divorced even one? Did Bathsheba seduce King David by bathing in the nude? Was Mary Magdalene really a reformed prostitute?
While many have written studies of the women in the Bible, this is a new kind of book--one in which an international team of male and female scholars look afresh at vilified and neglected women in the Bible. The result is a new glimpse into God's heart for anyone, male or female, who has limited social power.
For 60 years, Open Doors has worked in the world's most oppressive countries, empowering and equipping persecuted Christians in more than 60 countries by providing Bibles, training, and programs to help women and children who have been marginalized because of their beliefs and status in society, as well as helping to restore communities that have been targets of persecution. For 25 years Open Doors has published its World Watch List, a ranking of the top 50 countries where it is most difficult and dangerous to live as a Christian.
Since joining Open Doors USA in August 2013, Curry has traveled overseas to encourage those living under persecution and to support the work Open Doors. He appears frequently on Fox News and is a regular contributor to The Huffington Post. Curry has also been published or featured in CBS News, CNN, The Washington Post, USA Today, Christianity Today, The Christian Post and other news outlets.
Curry previously served as CEO and president at Christian organizations that serve the homeless and neglected children in several countries, including India and Haiti.
Curry is the author of four books: First Aid for Enablers, It's Not How Far You Fall It's How High You Bounce, God Plays Golf and Change Your World!.
Curry holds a bachelor's degree from Northwest University in Seattle and an honorary doctorate of humane letters from Faith Evangelical College and Seminary based in Tacoma, Washington.
Based in Santa Ana, California, Curry and his wife have two children.
We are a 501c3, non-profit organization with more than 60 years of experience and a long track record of financial integrity.
And we are also a group of friends—a mix of office staff, board members, field representatives, and many, many regular people who stand against persecution. Although we haven’t met every one of our readers and supporters face-to-face, we count each of them as an important part of our work.
