He also serves on the board of Foundations for Farming in Zimbabwe, an initiative dedicated to helping the ultra-poor learn to flourish using local resources.
Chuck is the Founder and Executive Director of the Christian Economic Forum, a global community of high achievers with a higher calling.
Chuck and his wife, Ann, both graduates of Baylor University, have been married since 1978. They can be found reading and spending time outdoors with their family at their home in Knoxville, Tennessee when they are not traveling the world together to advance Crown’s mission.
They have four adult sons, two daughters-in-law, and five grandchildren.
Today’s world is torn apart. Tension is everywhere. Brother is pitted against brother, sister against sister, citizen against citizen, even Christian against Christian. It’s so hard to find agreement—much less real harmony—in our polarized society. Can there be a way forward?
Tony Evans knows how elusive unity can be. As a black man who’s also a leader in white evangelicalism, he understands how hard it can be to bring these worlds together. Yet he’s convinced that the gospel provides a way for Christians to find oneness despite the things that divide us. In the Word of God, we find a kingdom-based approach to matters of history, culture, the church, and social justice.
In this beautiful book, Jack Countryman explores how Bible characters responded to adversity with a faith in God that brought them hope--not necessarily because their circumstances changed but because their focus changed.
