He was an activist in Baghdad for anti-corruption, human rights, women’s rights, and children’s rights for the period 2005-2016. During this period, he cooperated with U.S. Forces, the U.S. Corps of Engineers, and GRD, and was a liaison officer and a member of the EFC -CJ 9.
Before him, his father joined efforts with the U.S. forces to fight Iraqi oil corruption that was financing terrorist activities, Because of this, his father, Hussain Alfattal (an international oil expert and a general manager to an oil company) was assassinated in November 2004. Ali has carried on with his father’s work.
Edward is a native Dallasite and the former Vice Chairman for Hispanic Engagement for the Dallas Co. Republican Party. He was awarded by the DCRP as Republican Ambassador of the Year in 2018. Retta is one of the co-founders of the Latino Cultural Center in Dallas, an advisor to the Texas A&M Hispanic Network and an advisor to the Hispanic Republican Club of North Texas. He was recognized as a “New Hispanic Leader” by Al Dia newspaper and the Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and as a “National Hispanic Leader” by the American Jewish Committee.
Retta is a product of the DISD, a graduate of Texas A&M University, an honors graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary and also studied at Oxford University in England. He attended International Leadership School in Wales, UK. He is a member of Park Cities Baptist Church and an active lay leader in the Hispanic ministry there. He once survived a ship wreck near Cape Horn.

Beverly has served as a research fellow and health policy advisor for Show Me Institute, Kansas Policy Institute, Patients for Reform and Independent Women’s Voice. As an active member of the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU), she has held multiple positions within the organization, including KS President.
Governor Sam Brownback appointed her to the State Board of Indigents Defense Services in 2016 and she has served on various commissions on health care in her home state of Kansas. She has been interviewed on local and national news stations and written op-eds for several publications. She is a respected national expert on health care policy-related issues and a featured speaker.
Beverly helped pioneer HSAs with the Bush administration. Her expertise in health care is sought by many state and federal legislators and leaders. She has conducted Capitol Hill briefings in DC, testified on free market health care policy in several states, and assisted in crafting policy.
In the Kansas Senate she serves as Vice President of Public Health and Welfare and on Financial Institutions and Insurance, Education and Judiciary Committees
