Pastor Pacienza, who became a believer in Jesus Christ while a teenager at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, was later mentored by the late Dr. D. James Kennedy, the founding pastor of CRPC. He earned his Master of Divinity at Knox Theological Seminary and is now completing his doctorate in ministry at Westminster Theological Seminary. His philosophy of ministry as a pastor is best summed up in the vision statement at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church: “we exist to equip Gospel-centered, culture-shaping Christians.”
Robert is the author of the forthcoming book, The Hope Of The World: Christian Cultural Engagement in a Secular Age.
Pastor Pacienza and his wife, Jen, live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with their children, Preston and Lydia.
Decades ago, Joni Eareckson Tada wrote:
Gradually, though no one remembers exactly how it happened, the unthinkable becomes tolerable. And then acceptable. And then legal. And then applaudable.
She was writing about assisted suicide, and yet so many of today’s hot-button issues are just as relevant to her point: abortion, gender, marriage, and the list goes on.
In a culture that values subjective truth over God’s absolute truth, we shouldn’t be surprised at our culture’s prevailing opinions.
But neither should we be dismayed.
God is still on his throne, and he is still moving in power.
In fact, we believe God is seeking to renew America in our lifetime.
In this book from Denison Forum, The Fifth Great Awakening and the Future of America, we offer a biblical path toward renewal and—we pray—the next Great Awakening.
As you’ll read, every Great Awakening was preceded by Christians desperate for a move of God in their community.
And that desperation started first with a desire to see God move within themselves.
