Dr. Jalil Dawood was born in Baghdad, Iraq, and came to the US as a refugee in 1982. After resettling into his new life in the US, he earned his bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from the University of Texas at Dallas, his master’s degree in Cross-Cultural Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary, and his doctorate from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Since then, Jalil has served as pastor of the Arabic church of Dallas, Texas, and founded World Refugee Care, a Gospel-centered organization that helps refugees rebuild their lives at various stages of resettlement.
Tens of thousands of displaced families have been served, and many have embraced faith in Jesus Christ. Jalil recently expanded his dynamic outreach by launching his SAT-7 network program, Stranger on the Earth, where he brings biblical teaching in the Arabic language to millions of homes in the Middle East.
In 2016, Jalil authored his short biography, The Refugee, in which he shared his personal story of finding refuge. And in 2022, Jalil co-authored Sola Scriptura, a training resource to help equip Christian leaders from Arab backgrounds and beyond.

Randy Broberg is A Lay Pastor at Maranatha Chapel, a Calvary Chapel Congregation located in San Diego, California, with more than 7,000 in weekly attendance. At Maranatha, Randy has served as an instructor in the School of Ministry, as a professor in the Maranatha Bible College, as a member of the elder and deacon board and as a lay pastor. Prior to Christian ministry, Randy was an attorney with more than 25 years of experience advising corporations and negotiating agreements relating to their intellectual property and technology.
Randy earned his JD in 1989 from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was a Senior Editor of the Virginia Journal of Law and Politics. In 1983, Randy received his BA in both History and Classics from Stanford University. At Stanford, Randy was inducted into the academic honor society, Phi Beta Kappa and served The Stanford Daily as a news reporter, a weekly bylined op/ed columnist and as a member of the newspaper’s Editorial Board. Randy also attended the American School of Classical Studies, in Athens, Greece and the Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies in Rome, Italy. Randy spent the summer of 1986 in Degeberga, Sweden as a farm hand and as a shepherd of sheep and goats.
