On the show today, Kerby welcomes in-studio Peter and Petra Spencer. Peter wrote and directed the film ‘Return to the Hiding Place’, a sequel to the 1975 film The Hiding Place which was based on the autobiography of Corrie Ten Boom. This sequel tells the story of the student rebellion that sprung up and assisted the Ten Booms in their efforts. Petra Spencer, Peter’s daughter, produced the film.
In the second hour we hear from Lauren Chandler, wife of Pastor Matt Chandler. She discusses her book, Steadfast Love: The Response of God to the Cries of Our Heart.
Peter's work has garnered praise from the New York Times, Washington Post, and L.A. Times for his communication style. Peter is an accomplished author, professional actor, musician and public speaker. Peter spent many years as the official chaplain to the multi-national champions the San Antonio Spurs and worked closely with David Robinson in ministry. He produced his apologetic series Defending the Faith for CNL Television in the Russian-speaking world. Peter also teaches crowds of up to 40,000 in India and is heard on several radio stations in North America.

Her husband, Matt Chandler, serves as the lead teaching pastor at The Village Church in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area, one of the fastest growing churches in the United States, with campuses in Flower Mound, North Dallas, Denton, Fort Worth and Plano.
Lauren is passionate about writing, music and leading worship, not only at The Village Church, but also for groups across the country. She’s already garnered a Dove nomination, and her debut album, The Narrow Place, released in 2012.
A native Texan, she spends her days leaning into the peace she finds worshipping God whether in front of her piano, on horseback or in the midst of a full life. She also leans into the privilege of parenting her three children, Audrey, Reid and Norah.
There are times when worship overflows easily and effortlessly from a heart full of gratitude and praise. Yet, there are other times when God seems far and we feel we have nothing left to offer. We are tired, or thirsty, or imprisoned in our own chains through our own devices, or caught in the waves of a tumultuous sea. This is when God shows us His steadfast love.
He wraps His eternally powerful, ultimately creative, nail-scarred hands around our hearts and squeezes with appropriate might—yielding an honest plea for Him to save us and deliver us from our circumstances, fears, and self control. And He does. He initiates with His steadfast love, and responds with the same.
Walk with Lauren as she shares what she has learned of the steadfast love of the Lord.
