First hour Kerby will discuss the Democratic Convention and take your concerns, questions and thoughts. Call us in-studio at 800-351-1212 and share your point of view.
In the second hour we hear from Joel Pollak, senior editor-at- large and in-house counsel at Breitbart News. He discusses his book, See No Evil: 19 Hard Truths the Left Can’t Handle.
Born in South Africa, Pollak became a U.S. citizen in 1987. He holds law and bachelor’s degrees from Harvard University, and a master’s degree from the University of Cape Town.
Pollak has published three previous books: Wacko Birds: The Fall (and Rise) of the Tea Party, The Kasrils Affair: Jews and Minority Politics in Post-Apartheid South Africa, and Don’t Tell Me Words Don’t Matter: How Rhetoric Won the 2008 Presidential Election. He is a contributor to Canada’s Sun News Network, a frequent guest on Fox News and CNN, and lives with his wife Julia, and daughter, Maya, in Santa Monica, California.
Clinton and vice presidential pick Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., grappled with claims of flip-flopping on both the controversial Trans-Pacific Partnership trade pact and federal funding of abortion.
Longtime Clinton ally and Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe told Politico late Tuesday that he believes Clinton will ultimately support the TPP, with some tweaks.
When asked if Clinton would come around now that she is the nominee, McAuliffe said: “Yes. Listen, she was in support of it. There were specific things in it she wants fixed.”
The media had been critical of former president Jerry Ford’s schmoozing with Southern California elites, with Ronald Reagan’s brief but lucrative post-presidential speaking, and with George W. Bush’s youthful and pre-presidential windfall profits from his association with the Texas Rangers. And all presidents emeriti glad-hand and lobby the rich to donate to their presidential libraries, but with important distinctions. One can argue that Jimmy Carter sought donations to his nonprofit Carter Library and Center out of either ego or a sincere belief in doing good works. The same holds true of the libraries of the Bushes and Reagan.
