Paul Manafort Admits ‘Conflict’ in Trump Campaign

Paul Manafort, who usually plays it close to the vest when commenting on turmoil in Donald Trump’s campaign, has finally admitted there’s trouble in the ranks.

The billionaire real-estate tycoon’s campaign manager told ABC’s “Good Morning America” “there’s a conflict within the Trump campaign” over the GOP presidential nominee’s refusal to endorse House Speaker Paul Ryan for reelection in Wisconsin.

The confession is Manafort’s first confirmation that things are not as rosy as he’s continued to insist they are among Trump’s inner circle.

The campaign was able to take a bit of a breather on Wednesday as Trump’s vice-presidential running mate Mike Pence hastily endorsed Ryan.

But that now creates a division between Pence and Trump, who has also declined to endorse Sen. John McCain for reelection.

Meanwhile, Republican National Committee chair Reince Priebus is said to be furious at Trump’s failure to endorse Ryan, who is the most senior elected Republican.

Priebus is also on the warpath over Trump’s explosive feud with the Khans, the Muslim family whose heroic son was killed in combat.

“He feels like a fool,” a Republican source familiar with the situation told Bloomberg News.

GOP brass are also said to be in closed-door meetings to discuss what to do about Trump’s increasingly disorganized campaign as calls for the party to pull their endorsements of him mount.
