This week, the City of Plano, Texas—the ninth largest city in one of America’s largest states—voted to adopt an unlawful and unconstitutional ordinance that violates the religious liberty rights of ordinary citizens. Of the revised policy of an ordinance the City first passed in 1989—and which the City renamed as “Equal Rights Policy”— the City Council Agenda Item says:

“The City Council desires to rename and expand the City’s policy to afford equal human rights to individuals regardless of U.S. military/veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation and gender identity in addition to the other protected characteristics.”
