John Zmirak is a Senior Editor of The Stream, and author of the new Politically Incorrect Guide to Catholicism. He received his B.A. from Yale University in 1986, then his M.F.A. in screenwriting and fiction and his Ph.D. in English in 1996 from Louisiana State University. His focus was the English Renaissance, and the novels of Walker Percy. He taught composition at LSU and screenwriting at Tulane University, and has written screenplays for and with director Ronald Maxwell (Gods & Generals and Gettysburg). He was elected alternate delegate to the 1996 Republican Convention, representing Pat Buchanan. He has been Press Secretary to pro-life Louisiana Governor Mike Foster, and a reporter and editor at Success magazine and Investor’s Business Daily, among other publications. Rod Bordelon is a senior fellow at the Texas Public Policy Foundation. Rod Bordelon’s extensive experience leading major state regulatory agencies and implementing reforms includes over 30 years in insurance, workers’ compensation and legislative affairs. Rod specializes in government agency regulatory and legislative advocacy, legal analysis, coalition building, and public speaking. His work includes successfully adopting medical cost containment guidelines and pharmacy formularies in workers’ compensation, and advocating free market reforms in all lines of insurance. An eleven-term gubernatorial appointee, Rod was appointed as the Public Insurance Counsel by Governor George W. Bush and reappointed by Governor Rick Perry, and appointed as the Commissioner of Workers’ Compensation by Governor Perry. As Commissioner he implemented extensive reforms to the workers’ compensation system in Texas, resulting in significant market performance improvements and cost savings, a fifty percent drop in the rates of insurance premiums and increased performance within the regulatory agency. Rod is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, and South Texas College of Law in Houston.

His thoughtful commentaries also are published by media outlets such as The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Dallas Morning News, Foxnews.com, The Huffington Post, TheBlaze and Religion News Service. He is the author of seven books, including his most recent, “Radical Islam: What You Need to Know.” Denison has taught philosophy of religion and apologetics for more than 30 years with four seminaries. He has spoken in China, Cuba, Brazil, Australia, Europe, Israel, Greece, Egypt, Bangladesh and Turkey. He leads frequent study tours in Israel, Greece and other countries in Europe. He has served on the boards of Baylor Health Care System, Dallas Baptist University, Mercer University, George W. Truett Theological Seminary, B. H. Carroll Theological Institute, Howard Payne University and the Center for Christian Ethics at Baylor University.
