Bauer served in President Ronald Reagan's administration for all eight years, as Under Secretary of Education and Chief Domestic Policy Advisor. After leaving the Reagan White House, Bauer became President of the Family Research Council and a Senior Vice President of Focus on the Family. Bauer took his pro-family, pro-life message across the country during the 2000 Republican presidential primaries and debates. Bauer served as a Trump appointee to the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom.For several years, he co-hosted the Bauer & Rose Show on the Sirius XM Network and the Bauer & Rose Podcast which was featured on Just The News.Today, he serves as President of American Values, an educational non-profit public policy organization, and as Chairman of Campaign for Working Families PAC, which is dedicated to electing conservative candidates to Congress. Bauer also serves as Senior Vice President of Public Policy for the Dr. James Dobson Family Institute.In 1973, Bauer received his law degree from Georgetown Law School in Washington, D.C.  He is married to the former Carol Hoke, and lives in Virginia. Don has been in ministry for thirty-five years and has many personal stories of the hand of God at work. His “Project Truth” ministry goes onto college compasses and engages the students of West Coast colleges each semester. From airplane encounters, to protesting outside a high school or an abortion center, to sharing his faith at rest stops, Don can share some great stories of what happens when you take the message of hope to the streets of your community. He is certainly a man in the trenches. Through his ministry, over 4,000 babies have been saved. Along the way, he’s been arrested 5 times. He has worked on occasion with Lila Rose, Students for Life, CBR, Survivors, Troy Newman, and Joe Scheidler. He’s also been privileged to meet President George Bush Sr., Dan Quail, Sarah Weddington, Larry the Cable Guy, Billy Graham, and Anthony Quinn.
