Our first in-studio guest today is Dr. Merrill Matthews, he chats with Kerby about healthcare.
In the second hour Pastor Tommy Nelson of Denton Bible Church joins Kerby in-studio to talk about his Post Election Reflection.
Dr. Matthews is a past president of the Health Economics Roundtable for the National Association for Business Economics, the largest trade association of business economists. Dr. Matthews also served for 10 years as the medical ethicist for the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center’s Institutional Review Board for Human Experimentation, and has contributed chapters to several books, including Physician Assisted Suicide: Expanding the Debate and The 21st Century Health Care Leader and, in 2009, Stop Paying the Crooks (on Medicare fraud).
He has been published in numerous journals and newspapers, including The Wall Street Journal, Investor’s Business Daily, Barron’s, USA Today, Forbes magazine and the Washington Times. He was an award-winning political analyst for the USA Radio Network.

Unlike former HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, who understood neither healthcare nor health policy, Price, a doctor, understands both. He introduced his own Obamacare replacement plan in 2013 and updated it in 2015.
And Price’s plan, which seeks to create a consumer-driven health care model and is already in legislative language, is very similar to House Speaker Paul Ryan’s “A Better Way” health care reform outline released earlier this year. All of which means the Price plan will likely provide the framework for the Republican plan.
