Dr. Nick Pitts serves as the director of cultural engagement at the Denison Forum on Truth and Culture. He contributes to the Forum in the areas of geopolitics and popular culture, as well as serving as the editor of the Daily Briefing. He also serves as an adjunct professor at DBU, teaching a master’s level course in the philosophy of leadership. His Ph.D. research centered upon John F. Kennedy’s engagement of the religious community in the 1960 presidential campaign. In 2011, after a severely mentally ill young man in Tucson, Arizona shot Democratic Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, wounded almost 20 more, and killed six, including a 9-year-old girl, it took the liberal media elite a nanosecond to pin the crime on -- who else? -- conservative Republicans and their supposed "toxic rhetoric."

While police were still scouring the crime scene, Paul Krugman, The New York Times hard-left columnist wrote: "Where's that toxic rhetoric coming from? Let's not make a false pretense of balance: it's coming, overwhelmingly, from the right."

Why highlight the Left's worst actors in the wake of an unspeakable tragedy? Because (a) they're egregious statements that deserve public shaming, especially with victims still recovering from their wounds; (b) they're only a level or two more repugnant than the highest-ranking Democrat in the House kinda sorta blaming Republicans and Fox News for the shooting spree by a guy who hated ...

And thus, in the wake of a Nebraska Democratic leader expressing amused delight at NRA supporters getting shot up, here's a New Jersey party operative -- whose influence and stature does seem, it must be said -- being absolutely disgusting:
