America at the Crossroads: Explosive Trends Shaping America's Future and What You Can Do about It
Today's Most Troubling Trends about Faith and Culture in America

We live in a tumultuous time. Upheavals and reversals in culture, popular opinion, morality, race relations, socioeconomic status, and so much more have entire generations feeling off balance or out of touch. How do we keep pace with the breathtaking rate of change in our society when we can hardly find time to keep up with our racing newsfeeds? And in the face of such enormous cultural forces, is there anything we can do to help shape our culture?

With America at the Crossroads, bestselling author and cultural analyst George Barna turns his researcher's eye on the most significant trends of our moment in history, compiling and distilling the most salient information for busy readers who want to shape culture rather than allow it to shape them. Anyone who has felt overwhelmed by our swiftly changing times will appreciate Barna's extensive research and his "bottom line" approach.
Conservative Reaction to Trump in Debate
Conservatives say Donald Trump delivered a lackluster performance full of missed opportunities during Monday night's presidential debate with Hillary Clinton.

Veteran political consultant and Newsmax contributor Dick Morris said Trump dropped the ball several times at the 90-minute verbal slugfest at Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY.

"He's asked the question about cybersecurity — and he takes it on face value and he lets Hillary take it on face value. The answer on cybersecurity is secure your own damn email, secretary of state, and he didn't do that," Morris said.

"Then, he's asked a question about what can we do to reduce the crime in various cities? And he doesn't take it. He doesn't talk about stopping immigrants from coming in, from terror-sponsoring countries … He could have done such a better job."
Obama’s Risky Giveaway
The Internet may never be the same after Sept. 30.

Big changes are coming that threaten its security, stability and openness. The United States has always controlled how the Internet functions, but, under a plan backed by President Obama, next month it will abdicate control to a multi-stakeholder international governing body.

It's complicated, and it's a big deal.

Let me explain: To reach a website or person on the Internet, you must give your computer a destination — usually entered as a name or number. That destination has to be unique so computers know where to find each other. Humans prefer to find web and email addresses by name, such as google.com. But computers know each other by numbers, or Internet Protocol addresses.
It’s Now or Never to Save the Internet
We have, unfortunately, come to expect our elected representatives to shirk hard decisions. So it came as little surprise when the Senate released the text of a continuing resolution late last week to fund the U.S. government that did not include key objectives sought by conservatives, such as stopping taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood.

Although there are many problems with this budget deal, only one is irreversible and permanent: allowing the Obama administration to cede oversight of the internet to foreign bodies. It’s troubling that the Senate has failed to include language prohibiting this transfer of power.

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) is the nonprofit organization responsible for maintaining databases for internet domain names, essentially the phone book for the internet.

The Obama administration announced the goal of ending the U.S. contractual oversight of ICANN in 2014, and asked ICANN to submit a plan to fill the gap of U.S. withdrawal and to implement stronger accountability measures to make sure ICANN does not abuse its authority.
