A Recap of the First Religious Liberty Commission Meeting Right now, we are living in a sea change moment. We have an opportunity to fully reclaim our First Amendment rights, to fully re-establish religious freedom as our First Freedom. Administrations come and go, but opportunities like this only come around once in a generation.

It would be amusing if it weren’t so serious. Last weekend’s expressions of supposed free speech were almost universally called demonstrations by the media and “mostly peaceful” by some. In contrast, the Jan. 6, 2021 breach of the U.S. Capitol was labeled an “insurrection” and “riot” by the media.  

Whatever decision President Donald Trump ultimately makes, it will reflect his commitment to put America first.

The President’s Religious Liberty Commission met for the first time today, focusing on the foundations of religious liberty from our nation’s founding to the present day, including the founders’ intent behind the First Amendment’s religious liberty protections, and a discussion of related key U.S. Supreme Court decisions.

Joe Biden’s Presidency began to decline the day he abandoned Afghanistan to the Taliban. American deterrence collapsed, and U.S. enemies saw their moment to strike in Ukraine and the Middle East. Donald Trump now has an opportunity to reverse Mr. Biden’s Afghan legacy and restore deterrence if he helps Israel destroy Iran’s nuclear program.

The shift away from the Obama-Biden system of the federal government picking winners and losers is a welcome change in our economy.

The ruling will likely allow similar bans in more than 20 other red states to be upheld in the face of legal challenges.
