Dear God,
Thank you for the legacy of prayer woven throughout America’s history, including the annual National Day of Prayer. Please prompt the hearts of your followers in this nation to turn to you in prayer today, and always.
The Bible says that You are our lamp, our light in the darkness, and that Your Word proves true (2 Samuel 22:29-31). I believe this and want others to know Your Word!
I pray that the hearts of Americans will desire Your Word more and more in the coming year.
I pray that you would raise up and encourage leaders in the faith—from pastors of small, local churches to directors of national Christian organizations, and everyone in between—to properly understand and effectively teach Your Word to others.
I pray that you would equip Your people to live out Your Truth lovingly and boldly, so that we can be a “city on a hill” to those around us.
I pray for my government leaders, from local authorities to those in Washington, D.C. Please guide their actions and decisions with biblical wisdom and raise up godly councilors around them.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
