In the first hour of the show today Kerby will teach on Thanksgiving. In the second hour we welcome in-studio Thomas Boto and Keith Alcorn. They tell us more about Owlegories, an animated series that follows a group of student owls as they travel on adventures learning about nature, faith, and God.

They came up with an idea to use the elements of creation to teach their kids about God. Their first project was an interactive storybook app – and the whole family chipped in to help. Aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and even Thomas’ 87-year-old grandfather—contributed their voices for the original Owlegories app.
In 2014, after the success of the app, they started production on the Owlegories Animated Series and the Owlegories Memory Verse App. Thomas is a graduate of Baylor University and Liberty University School of Law. Thomas and Julie live in Texas with their four boys Austin, Everett, Gus, and Owen.

In 2001, Keith Produced and Co-Created the Oscar nominated animated feature film, “Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius” for Paramount and Nickelodeon. Keith also served as Director/Co-Executive Producer on the Nickelodeon series, “The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius” before serving as Executive Producer on the feature film, “The Ant Bully” for Warner Brothers and Tom Hanks.

A day of Thanksgiving was set aside by the Pilgrims who founded Plymouth Colony. Life was hard in the New World. Half of the Pilgrims died in the first terrible winter. After the first harvest was completed, Governor William Bradford proclaimed a day of Thanksgiving and prayer. By 1623, a day of fasting and prayer during a period of drought was changed to one of Thanksgiving because the rain came during their prayers. The custom prevailed in New England and eventually became a national holiday.
