Speaker | Author | Volunteer
Cindy is the widow of decorated Vietnam veteran Philip D. Vann, who died from an Agent Orange related disease, in 2014.

Together they raised three Children; sons Christopher, Philip Jr aka JR and daughter Cally. Cindy is blessed with four beautiful grandchildren: Paxton, Halle, Indy, and Izzy.

Cindy acknowledges her daughters in love as part of her family, from Phil’s previous marriages; Shawna, and Andrea and their families as well as her son Philip Jr’s spouse Morgan and her daughter Cally’s spouse Mike.

Passing Through the Shadow of Death, is a memoir about God’s love actualized through his intervention throughout Cindy’s life with Phil.

When the Word of God came alive in their life, they were able to recognize that living with PTSD meant God gave them the power and ability of Passing Through the Shadow of Death.

The day Phil accepted Christ into his life, the light emanating from the work Christ did on the cross, broke through the darkness of PTSD that had formerly driven Phil to multiple attempts of ending his life.

Cindy resides in the Metro-Plex of DFW where she shares her faith while volunteering for multiple charities.

Unlikely Pilgrim: A Journey into History and Faith
Two middle-aged men, fast friends, make eleven foreign trips―pilgrimages you might call them ―to parts of the world rich in the history of Christianity. The trips combine adventure, strenuous physical activity, exhilaration, discovery, and friendship. Three of the journeys were to Western Europe; six were to Eastern Europe and the Balkans and two to the Middle East. The trips were spontaneous and unplanned, often requiring improvisation along the way. Told in a lighthearted and often amusing style, An Unlikely Pilgrim provides a vivid and colorful picture of parts of the world often out of the range of American tourists, but deep in both ancient and current geopolitical, historical, and cultural wealth.
