Jeffrey Matthews is the George F. Jewett Distinguished Professor in the School of Business and Leadership at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. He has a B.S. in Business Administration & Finance from Northern Arizona University. He also received an MBA and MA (History) from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and his Ph.D. in American History from the University of Kentucky. Most recently, Dr. Matthews completed a biography of General Colin Powell, who served as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (under Presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton) and as Secretary of State (under President George W. Bush). Colin Powell: Imperfect Patriot is published by the University of Notre Dame Press (January 2019). Currently, Dr. Matthews is a founding partner and Business Director of the Camouflaj game studio, headquartered in Bellevue, Washington.
