Chad Vandiver
Director — Empower One Network
Chad, his wife Shelly and their four children, Benjamin, Samuel, Lucas and Liliana live in Texas. Chad serves as the Director of the Empower One Network, a church planting network planting churches that plant churches in Northeast Africa. He grew up in Abidjan, Ivory Coast and Paris, France. His experience sharing Biblical truths with Catholics, Muslims, Hindus, and Buddhists comes from 45 years of developing cross-cultural friendships in urban contexts. He began ministering to Muslim friends through soccer in Abidjan, Ivory Coast and while attending high school in Paris, France. Chad and Shelly Vandiver led the International Mission Board’s North Africa team in Madrid, Spain during a pivotal time in Spanish history. While Shelly formed relationships with Spanish mothers, Chad served as an English instructor at one of the largest mosques in Western Europe. He has grown up sharing Christ with Catholic friends, has shared with Buddhist immigrants in Texas temples and has witnessed to Hindus in corporate America. He is a specialist in relational evangelism among unreached people and has written curriculum for leading the local church to serve as a missionary to the unreached people living around them. He has devoted his life to helping churches strategically plant multiplying churches among unreached people groups because he believes church planting is the most effective way to share the gospel today.
