Wendy L. Patrick is a career prosecutor honored as one of the Daily Journal’s Top Professional Responsibility Lawyers for 2025, and named as one of the 2024 Top Professional Responsibility Lawyers by the State Bar of California. Ms. Patrick has completed over 165 trials ranging from hate crimes to domestic violence to first-degree murder. Before becoming a prosecutor, she was a trial attorney and team leader in the San Diego Public Defender’s office. Dr. Patrick holds a Master of Divinity degree summa cum laude from Bethel Seminary San Diego. She received a Ph.D. in Theology from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David and is formally ordained as a Christian minister through Converge Worldwide. Dr. Patrick received her J.D. from California Western School of Law, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology with honors from the University of California Los Angeles. Dr. Patrick is passionate about apologetics, using her evidence-based persuasion skills to defend the faith. She is a frequent speaker at Christian conferences as well as on national television, with appearances on FOX News Channel, CNN, and Newsmax. She hosts her own radio show, “Today with Dr. Wendy” on KCBQ, and has a weekly slot on Fox 5 San Diego called Inside the Law. She is the author of Why Bad Looks Good: Biblical Wisdom to Make Smart Choices in Life, Love, and Friendship, Red Flags: How to Spot Frenemies, Underminers, and Ruthless People, and is co-author of the revised version of Reading People. Dr. Patrick is a Professor of Theology, Law, and Culture at Veritas International University, where she has taught courses in Christian Ethics, Gospel and Culture, Interpersonal Communications, and Apologetics and the Art of Persuasion.
