Katherine is founder and Uganda Director of Hines Ugandan Ministries which she founded in 1999 and has ministered there since 1995. The ministry has experienced tremendous growth! Katherine left a successful Colorado professional business career at age 36 after overcoming a series of tragedies, including 3 boyfriends dying tragically, to serve the impoverished and distressed children of Uganda – by some measures the poorest nation on earth and a country where former dictator Idi Amin butchered an estimated 300,000 people. Most of the now 1000’s of children she and her team interact with have at least one parent who has or died from AIDS. Katherine has been a fearless evangelist leading many to Christ from witchcraft, polygamy, poverty and Islam. A Christian school serving 300 has been established, a vibrant medical clinic, a craft enterprise, child sponsorship programs of nearly 250 and an Awana program reaching more than 1200 kids a year. Katherine has become the sole foster parent of 34 kids which now include a doctor, nurse, World Bank employee, pastor and social worker . . .. Now you know why she is called “Momma Katherine!”

Kathleen Ingerson, grandmother of three, mother of five, bachelor of science nurse, holds audiences spell-bound with her inspirational passion for Christ and His Word. Raised on a dairy farm in Michigan, she drove her father’s tractor, pulling the hay bailer, from age five, while he stacked the square bales. Since she was not strong enough to turn the tractor around at the end of each row, no matter how nervous she became when approaching the end of the hayfield, her father never failed to come forward, over the tractor tongue connecting the trailer to bailer to tractor, arriving just in time to reach over her shoulders and turn the tractor around to start bailing the next row. “My earthly father’s model of faithfulness taught me to trust my Heavenly Father who likewise arrives just in time—to glorfy Himself.” Kathleen has served as nurse on short-term missions teams to the Philippines and routinely hosts worldwide missionaries providing comfortable lodging and delicious meals.Despite innumerable medical challenges Kathleen inspires others with genuine hospitality and grace. She, and husband David, enjoy hosting the Christians in Action Missions International missionaries, as well as their children and grandchildren, making their home in Fresno, California.

Raised in academia in a protestant ministry home, Kathy Gray became addicted to comparison and perfectionism. Reeling from the effects of childhood sexual abuse and the violent murder of her brother she entered the perfect storm that eventually plummeted her into mental instability. She found herself groping her way through a nervous breakdown. Emerging from the fog of destructive mindsets, Kathy embraced the bedrock truth that every life is valuable, even her own. Transformed from a formerly suicidal, non-functioning, panic-stricken young mother, she confidently raised four sons, weathering the storms of teenage rebellion and drug and alcohol abuse. Her newly released book, Light in Our Darkness, written with former radio co-host and longtime friend Lisa Kratz Thomas, focuses on the value of life, all life. This book shatters the delusion that some lives are considered throwaways while others are thought of as indispensable. As a speaker and former radio talk show host, Kathy is passionate about helping others get free of enslaving mindsets. She is a veteran of Twelve-Step recovery and mentors numerous women both inside and outside the programs of recovery. She shares her story of transformation and the paradoxical truth of the invaluable “Fruit of Failure” with both men and women at conferences and retreats. An accomplished musician she pours into the musical development of her students and uses her musical gift composing and performing. Kathy lives with her husband David in Dallas, Texas. Their four grown sons also live and work in the Dallas area.
