Welcome to our Weekend Edition show. Today, Kerby is joined by Penna Dexter and Kelly Shackelford. The will look at the top issues in the news this week and give you their point of view. Father Frank Pavone from Priests for Life will join us briefly to talk about the US Supreme Court case which starts later this month in the case of Priests for Life vs. HHS. On that day, Priests for Life will hold a prayer rally in front of the steps of the Supreme Court, and invites all who are in favor of life and religious freedom to join them.

For eight years Penna Dexter served as co-host on Point of View with founder Marlin Maddoux. Following his passing in 2004, she has served as co-host and frequently as Kerby Anderson’s guest host. Her weekly commentaries are carried on the Point of View website and air on the Bott Radio Network.Penna’s heart is in educating and encouraging Christians to influence the culture and politics. She has also served as co-host and commentator on other local issues-based radio programs. She worked as a consultant overseeing the launch and production of the Family Research Council’s nationally syndicated radio program, Washington Watch Weekly. Penna’s interest in conservative politics and the issues that affect the family began when she was a child working on political campaigns with her parents. She graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in International Relations. She spent 8 years in the banking industry.Penna and her husband Todd have three children and nine grandchildren. They attend Christ Church, an Anglican congregation in Plano, Texas. Penna serves on the vestry and as a chalice bearer.

Rev. Frank Pavone is one of the most prominent pro-life leaders in the world. Originally from New York, he was ordained in 1988 by Cardinal John O’Connor. In 1993 he became national director of Priests for Life, the largest Catholic pro-life organization in the word, and has served on the Vatican’s Pontifical Council for the Family and Pontifical Academy for Life. He also serves as the president of the National Pro-life Religious Council and as the national pastoral director of Rachel's Vineyard, the world’s largest ministry of healing after abortion. As a tireless pro-life advocate and co-laborer with Christians of all stripes, Pavone has received the “Proudly Pro-life Award” by the National Right to Life Committee, and numerous other pro-life awards and honorary doctorates. Influential in the conversion of Norma McCorvey, the “Jane Roe” of the Supreme Court’s Roe vs. Wade abortion decision, he was present at the bedside of Terri Schiavo as she was dying and was an outspoken advocate for her life.
