She is a former member of the United States House of Representatives, who represented Minnesota for eight (8) years, and was selected to serve on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. She ran for President in 2012, appearing in 15 television presidential debates for her party, and was the only Republican woman in American history to win a presidential contest. Prior to Michele’s time in public office, she worked as a federal tax attorney. She was part of starting the first K-12 charter school in the US and spearheaded educational reform in Minnesota. Michele and her husband Marcus started a health care business, and together they raised five (5) biological children and fostered 23 teenage girls.
