Philanthropist | Conservative | Businessman
Foster Friess launched Friess Associates in 1974 to invest in lesser known, rapidly growing, well-financed American growth equities. Forbes Magazine named the firm's flagship Brandywine Fund one of the decade's top mutual funds as a result of its average 20% annual gains in the 1990's.

Born in Rice Lake, Wisconsin in 1940, Foster is a first generation college graduate, earning a Business Administration degree at the University of Wisconsin, where the Iron Cross Society honored him as one of the university's most outstanding senior men. His father bought and sold cattle and his mother managed the home.
