Our host Kerby Anderson opens the show with a biblical perspective on the headlines from the media reaction to the massacre at Bondi Beach to solutions to healthcare expenses. Then joining Kerby is President of Global Prison Ministries Mike Broyles. They talk about ministry in prisons, Malachai Dads, and about Mike’s book The Heart of a Father.
In the second hour, Kerby speaks with author Ray Comfort about his new book, Idiotic Things People Did in the Bible. Then Kerby closes the show by expounding on the news that affects our lives.
The mission vision of Lifeline Global is to restore and equip incarcerated men and women to become godly parents, so the generational cycle of incarceration can be broken. Lifeline Global was born in 2003 at Louisiana State Penitentiary (Angola State Prison) under the leadership of Mr. Burl Cain, then warden and currently now the Commissioner of Mississippi Dept. of Corrections. Lifeline has a Christ-honoring curriculum for men (Malachi Dads) and women (Hannah's Gift). They have events for inmates and their children who have completed their curriculum studies. They are in 40 states and 20 countries around the world.
Mike’s book, Only God: Transforming One Inmate and Family at a Time, contains stories from around the world about how God is forgiving and bringing healing and hope to inmate families. Lifeline Global is essentially a family ministry inside the prisons, focused on preparing women and men to re-enter their homes when they get out.
Mike is married to Debbie and has two adult children, Dan and Jonathan, who are both in ministry. They have seven wonderful grandchildren.
He and his wife, Sue, live in Southern California, where they have three grown children.
