He is a retired U.S. Army officer and an experienced military analyst with on-the-ground experience inside Russia and Ukraine and the author of a number of books that address the Russia and China threat, including "Give Me Liberty, Not Marxism" (2021). He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and the Naval Postgraduate School at Monterey. His special military training includes Ranger and airborne schools, Command & General Staff College and the U.S. Army War College Strategist Course as well as the Defense Language Institute.
