Julie earned a PhD in Humanities with a concentration in Philosophy from Faulkner University’s Great Books Honors College, where her dissertation research focused on critiquing the philosophy of transhumanism. She holds an MA in Apologetics from Biola University and a double degree in Finance and Accounting from Texas A&M University. She has served with Ratio Christi, a campus apologetics ministry, for ten years, first at Rutgers University and now at Texas A&M University. She is a Founding Council member and treasurer of the Society for Women of Letters and is the author of Critiquing Transhumanism: The Human Cost of Pursuing Techno-utopia (forthcoming, Public Philosophy Press, 2022). Julie lives in College Station, Texas with her husband of thirty-seven years and their dog Keeper. They have two married sons and three grandchildren.

Dr. John Trent is the Founder of StrongFamilies.com and The Center for StrongFamilies. Alongside his oldest daughter, Kari Trent Stageberg, he leads their ministry focused on helping build God-honoring, Blessing and attachment-centered relationships. He is a nationally known marriage and family speaker and author, regularly speaking at conferences and churches across the country. He also regularly speaks at corporate events, and for several branches of our military across the country and world.

Trent served for 5 years as the Gary D. Chapman Chair of Marriage and Family Ministry and Therapy at Moody Theological Seminary. He was Moody’s first endowed chair in their 129-year history. His focus there was teaching clinical mental health graduate students in marriage and family. Today he continues to teach Ph.D., D.Min. and M.Div. students at Dallas Theological Seminary and Arizona Christian University, training students in marriage and family therapy and ministry. Along with his oldest daughter, Kari, they’ve formed Camelback Life Coaching,and work with ICCI (International Christian Coaching Institute) to train Christian Life Coaches.

Dr. Trent has authored and co-authored more then 35 books, including seventeen that have won writing awards, like the ECPA Gold Medallion winning, 2 million copy best-selling book, The Blessing. His latest books, with his daughter, Kari, is The Power of The Blessing (abridgement) and “Where do I go from Here?” on LifeMapping®. And coming out in September of 2025 their latest book, Broken to Blessed is released. A powerful tool for those who grew up without the Blessing. As of 2025, there were combined, more than 3,000,000 copies of all his adult and children's books in print, in eleven different languages. As a writer, Dr. Trent has been nominated for the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association’s Gold Medallion Award for excellence in writing 17 times, winning 14 Silver Medallions and 3 Gold Medallion awards for excellence in Christian publishing.

Dr. Trent has been married to his wife, Cynthia, for 45 years. They live in Scottsdale, Arizona and have two grown daughters, and four grandchildren.
