His main emphasis was teaching an Old and New Testament survey to freshman at the Chicago campus, and the fruit of his focus on teaching the story line of the Bible was published in The Whole Bible Story. Dr. Marty has also written The World of Jesus and The Jesus Story and coauthored A Quick-Start Guide to the Whole Bible. He lives in Colorado with his wife, Linda, and is an active triathlete.

She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Howard Payne University with a Bachelor of Arts in Public and Media Communication, International Political Science, and the Guy D. Newman Honors Academy. Biblical Languages was her minor.
