Conspiracy Theories About Israel

Conspiracy Theories About Israel

Conspiracy theories about Israel can be heard on many talk programs and can be read in many blog posts. Danny Burmawi took the time to list 8 common conspiracy theories about Israel and provide a short response to each of them.

One is the belief that Israel drags the U.S. into Middle Eastern wars. He reminds us that the U.S. was engaged in Middle Eastern conflicts before the founding of Israel. He also points to many conflicts that were driven by American priorities (oil security, Soviet influence) that were not because of Israel’s prompting.

Another is the myth that Israel would not exist without U.S. tax money. This narrative ignores Israel’s self-reliance and economic status. Israel’s GDP, driven by tech innovation, pharmaceuticals, and defense exports is larger than most U.S. states and equivalent to economies like Sweden or Poland.

What about the claim that Christians are oppressed in Israel? A quick answer to that is to compare the rights of Christians in Muslim countries to their rights in Israel where they have full citizenship rights.

Another claim is that Israel is a violent country. But the numbers from historical records and verified reports reveal the opposite. Also, the numbers often cited by critics do not consider the nature of urban warfare.

Some of the Israel conspiracy theories involved Mossad. Supposedly, Mossad was behind Jeffrey Epstein. No U.S. intelligence agency has ever corroborated such a relationship. Mossad supposedly was planting bombs in Qatar and Saudi Arabia in an effort to destabilize these countries and drag them into the war. Qatar’s foreign ministry refuted such allegations.

I recommend Burmawi’s article because it provides concrete answers and statistics to many of the common conspiracy theories.viewpoints new web version
