Supporting Obamacare Means Never Having to Say Your Sorry

Supporting Obamacare Means Never Having to Say You're Sorry

Democrats, and only Democrats, gave us the political and health care disaster that is known as Obamacare. In a better world they would admit their mistakes, apologize and offer to work with Republicans who are trying to fix this mess.

But this is not a better world.

Instead, because this a political battle as much, or even more, than a health care battle, Democrats defend Obamacare as great health insurance that just needs a few tweaks.

Thus, they have been reduced to defending:

Outrageously high deductibles — Free market conservatives have long supported high deductible health insurance policies, ideally combined with a health savings account (HSA). But we usually talked about deductibles in the $2,500 range.

GOP and Health Insurance
A number of positive things can be said about the Senate Republicans’ health care bill, but “stopping the collapse of the individual health insurance market” isn’t one.

The first draft of the Senate bill retains several of what Democrats like to call “consumer protections,” by which Democrats apparently mean that consumers are “protected” from health insurance competition, lower premiums and lots of options.

Here’s the back story: Prior to the Affordable Care Act, some 17 million Americans—including my wife—bought their own policies in the individual health insurance market.

Steps to Quit Worrying About Money
Worrying about money is an epidemic. But worrying changes nothing. In fact, it is sin.

Jesus tells us In Matthew 6 not to worry about anything.

But Americans are REALLY stressed over their bank accounts!

In fact, a new study from CreditCards.com reveals that 65% are losing sleep because of their financial state. The most common stressor is the cost of healthcare or insurance bills. This is closely followed by concern over retirement savings and student loans. Mortgages and credit cards are not far behind.
Does God Want You to Be Rich?
There are a lot of financial teachers, preachers and gurus in the world today! It is good to be skeptical about who you should be listening to as each has a very different financial and biblical philosophy. You are certainly not alone if you are confused. “How much do I deserve?” is a question most people ponder throughout their working life. It’s an age-old concern to really know what you are worth and what to financially expect of or from God.
