Louie serves on numerous House committees and subcommittees in the House of Representatives. Congressman Gohmert is an ardent member of the House Judiciary Committee and serves as Vice Chairman of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security.
Prior to being elected to serve in Congress, Louie was elected to three terms as District Judge in Smith County, Texas. He was later appointed by Texas Governor Rick Perry to complete a term as Chief Justice of the 12th Court of Appeals. Louie received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and later graduated from Baylor School of Law. He is also a veteran having served his country as Captain in the U.S. Army.
He and his wife Kathy are the proud parents of three daughters. Their family attends Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler, where Louie has served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher for many years. He now frequently speaks or preaches at churches throughout his district and around the country.
Bartlesville Wesleyan College (now Oklahoma Wesleyan University). He has done postgraduate study at the University of Oklahoma.
The son of missionary parents, Todd did part of his growing up in Papua New Guinea and the rest in Southern California.
Todd and his wife, Charlotte, have two grown sons and two daughters-in-law. In his spare time, Todd enjoys reading, writing, music, travel and sports, including serving as commissioner of a fantasy football league. In 2015 he ran his first half-marathon.
For eight years she served as Marlin Maddoux’s co-host on Point of View and for two years she co-hosted a daily drive time live broadcast on the Dallas-based Criswell Radio Network.
Penna’s interest in conservative politics and the issues that affect the family began when she was a child working on political campaigns with her parents. She graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in International Relations. She spent 8 years in the banking industry. Penna and her husband Todd are members of Trinity Presbyterian Church, they have three adult children.
