Douglas Groothuis is Professor of Philosophy at Denver Seminary, where he has served since 1993. He has been appointed as Distinguished University Research Professor of Apologetics and Christian Worldview at Cornerstone University, beginning in the fall of 2024. He is the author or co-author of nineteen books, including Unmasking the New Age, Truth Decay, Christian Apologetics, Fire in the Streets (about Critical Race Theory), and World Religions in Seven Sentences. He has also published over thirty academic articles and many pieces in periodicals such as The Christian Research Journal, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Christianity Today, Think, Philosophy Now, and dozens of others.

Senator Tan Parker was elected to the Texas Senate in 2022, and serves on several committees including Education, Transportation, State Affairs, Veterans (vice chairman), Administration, and Local
Government. He is also vice chairman of the Senate Republican Caucus.
Tan previously served in the Texas House, holding appointments on almost every committee – leading on critical policy matters ranging from economic development to delivery of social services and international trade. He was also named chairman of committees overseeing financial services for Texas as well as the state prison system. During the 84th and 85th legislative sessions, Tan was unanimously elected as chair of the House Republican Caucus.
Tan’s legislative success touches on a broad range of issues facing Texans, reflecting the voices of his constituency. He is widely acclaimed for his free market, less government approach to cultivating innovation and protecting taxpayers. He is a staunch advocate for public safety and border security, being one of the first Republicans in the Nation to introduce legislation to stop human trafficking. He also works extensively on policies that protect children and our most vulnerable.
Tan has built a successful private sector business career with extensive experience in the financial services and private equity industries. He is also the creator of the book Making Government Work, praised by national leaders as a common-sense blueprint for a stronger America.
Tan and his wife, Beth, reside in Flower Mound where they raised their two daughters and enjoy volunteering in the community. He is a graduate of the University of Dallas with a master’s from the
London School of Economics.
