Born and raised in Texas, Jessica has lived in Dallas since 2006, where she attended SMU’s Dedman School of Law. Jessica began her legal career at Baker Botts L.L.P., working on complex bankruptcy and litigation matters for clients in various businesses and industries, while also giving her time in numerous legal and non-legal volunteer capacities. In 2014, Jessica transitioned full-time to a Dallas-based non-profit representing residents of high-crime neighborhoods against owners of problem properties in civil litigation and probate-related matters. In this role, Jessica led teams of volunteer lawyers and community advocates to support those clients’ efforts to bring peace to their streets. In 2016, she returned to private practice at the bankruptcy and structuring firm, Ross & Smith, PC. Jill Briscoe was born in Liverpool England in 1935. Educated at Cambridge. She taught school for a number of years before marrying Stuart and raising their three children. In addition to sharing with her husband in ministry with Torchbearers and in pastoring a church in the United States for 35 years, Jill has written more than 40 books, travelled on every continent teaching and encouraging. She has written numerous beautiful Christian poetry books. (and they sound beautiful in her British accent) Stuart and Jill met each other in the context of youth ministry over 60 years ago in England when Stuart was a bank examiner and Jill was a school teacher. They married and based their life together on the biblical verse, “As for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.” (Joshua 24:15.) Individually and together they have written over 140 books, pastored a church in the United States for thirty years, and founded a media ministry called Telling the Truth that broadcasts daily on air and online across the world. As he toured the world, fell into drugs, alcohol, sex, and more. He hit the ROCK Bottom so many in this lifestyle do. After the ego and wild days got a shock treatment, he has emerged as a man focused on his faith, his family, and a message of hope and redemption. From his beginnings in the Chicago area as a storied, yet troubled soccer phenom, to his days as a player for University of South Carolina, to an unexpected ask to drum for the college “band”, he never really slowed down and applied his true talents. But once he did, he excelled. In sports and in his music/songwriting and the rest is history, as they say.
