Eric Hogue was named president of Colorado Christian University by the Board of Trustees in March 2023 and took office in June 2023. Hogue previously served as vice president of University Advancement for CCU. Hogue has a strong affinity for Christian higher education, having earned a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Liberty University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from William Jessup University. He brings a deep knowledge of CCU to his new role. Since 2018, Hogue has served as vice president of University Advancement, directing a comprehensive fundraising program totaling more than $45 million, including $33.5 million for the Armstrong Center Campaign. He launched a $44 million Science Center Campaign, established the CCU Endowment Foundation to prioritize the rapid and sustained growth of future resources for the University, and birthed the CCU Fund and Hope Fund, which will raise $1.5 million annually for student scholarships. Prior to joining CCU, Hogue served for six years as the chief development officer of William Jessup University, where he tripled WJU's endowment fund and navigated two successful campus capital development campaigns. Hogue is known for his roles as a former political candidate; practicing theologian and pastor; and long-tenured radio, television, and media professional. He is the author of The Winning Side of the Ask: The Heart and Skills of the Donor-Centric Professional Fundraiser, a book dedicated to helping nonprofits design a thriving philanthropic culture. His wife, Tammy, is an award-winning educator who has been deeply shaped by her experience in Christ-centered higher education. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Teaching from William Jessup University. Dr. Eric Wallace prefers to be recognized, first and foremost, as a believer in Jesus Christ and a servant of God. He holds post-graduate degrees in Biblical Studies (MA, ThM, Ph.D), earning the distinction of being the first African American to earn a Ph.D. in Biblical studies from Union-PSCE (Now Union Presbyterian Seminary). In 2006, Wallace ran for State Senate in Illinois’ 19th district, and was a candidate for U.S. Representative in the 2nd Congressional district special election in 2013 and 2014. In 2008, Wallace began publishing Freedom’s Journal Magazine, an online political magazine, aimed at encouraging African Americans to cling to their natural conservative principles. In addition to the online magazine, he has authored two books. In 2011, Dr. Eric and his wife Jennifer founded Freedom’s Journal Institute (FJI) for the Study of Faith and Public Policy, a non-profit designed to advance the Kingdom of God through socio-political, education and engagement that gives tribute to the first African American press. The Wallaces organized the first Black Conservative Summit in 2013. Since 2019, “Kingdoms in Konflict (KiK): A Matter of Faith, Race, and Public Policy,” a TV program, has aired on NRB, TLN Networks and online at Freedomsjournalinstitute.org. And in recent months, Wallace has been outspoken about the evils of Critical Race Theory.
