Herbie Newell is the president and executive director of Lifeline Children’s Services and its ministry arms, including (un)adopted, Crossings and Lifeline Village. Herbie joined the Lifeline staff in 2003 as executive director and under his leadership, Lifeline has increased international outreach to 25 countries and obtained licensure in 17 states. Herbie has spoken at many events concerning adoption and the Church’s response to orphan care, including the National Council for Adoption, Christian Alliance for Orphans and the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission. Having witnessed the plight of older orphans on many international trips, Herbie formed (un)adopted in 2009, Lifeline’s strategic orphan care ministry focused on equipping orphaned and vulnerable children with life skills needed to bring about community transformation. Herbie holds a Master’s of Business Administration in Accounting from Samford University. He and his wife, Ashley, live in Birmingham, Alabama, and are parents to son, Caleb, and daughters, Adelynn and Emily.

Holly Randall serves as Associate Counsel with the First Liberty Institute. Holly graduated summa cum laude from the Oklahoma City University School of Law, where she was recognized as the Outstanding Graduate for the Class of 2021 and a Sumners Foundation Scholar. During law school, she externed at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, worked as a research assistant to Dean Jim Roth, served as president of the OKC Student Lawyers Chapter of the Federalist Society, and published her Note, From Peyote to Parenthood: Why Employment Division v. Smith Must(and Might) Go, as a member of the Oklahoma City University Law Review. Holly spent her summers as a legal intern at the First Liberty Institute. Dr. Hormoz Shariat was born into a Muslim family in Iran and came to the US after the Islamic Revolution of 1979. He came to Christ while earning his Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence at USC in 1980. In 1987, he planted a church in San Jose, CA. With hundreds of Muslim converts, it still remains one of the largest churches of its kind in the US. Dr. Shariat founded Iran Alive Ministries in 2001, which utilizes Satellite TV to reach the millions of lost and broken people in Iran and the rest of the Middle East.
