Pray for America: Trump’s Summit in China

Pray for America: Trump’s Summit in China

Yesterday President Donald Trump arrived in China for a two-day summit with Xi Jinping. He was accompanied by an entourage of administration officials and several major U.S. tech CEOs, including Apple’s Tim Cook, BlackRock’s Larry Fink, Boeing’s Kelly Ortberg, and others.

Consider

The China summit comes at a critical time. President Trump has taken a hard stance on trade with China, attempting to prioritize U.S. interests. His administration has also been pushing hard to maintain an edge on tech development related to artificial intelligence (AI).

There are global tensions simmering beneath the meeting, including China’s push to control Taiwan, and hopes that the U.S. can convince China to pressure Iran to work toward a resolution in the United States-Iran war.

We can’t forget the impact of China’s totalitarian policies on its own people, including Christian pastors and political dissidents, often with loved ones in the United States. Many are hoping and praying that Trump will use his short time in Beijing to advocate for some of these prisoners.

We should pause today to pray about this short but important meeting and the results it may yield.

Pray

Please pray the following prayer along with me:

Dear God,

Guide President Trump and his administration in discernment, wisdom, and moral clarity as they talk with Chinese officials about everything from trade and tech development to human rights.

Average people from American school children to innocent Iranian and Taiwanese families will most acutely feel the effects of whatever actions result from this summit. Protect them and convict those in power to keep their interests in the forefront.

Raise up leaders in the U.S. administration who will advocate boldly for religious freedom and those persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen.

Thank you for praying today. Prayer is the most powerful thing we can do in any situation. To continue making a difference through your actions, consider these steps:
