A Place Called Heaven: 10 Surprising Truths about Your Eternal Home
If any of us learned we were going to move to a foreign country, we'd do everything we could to learn about that place so that we'd be prepared when moving day arrived. As Christians, we know some day we will leave our familiar country and be united with God in heaven. And yet many of us know very little about this place called heaven.

In this enlightening book, bestselling author Dr. Robert Jeffress opens the Scriptures to unpack ten surprising truths about heaven and explain who we will see there and how we can prepare to go there someday. Perfect for believers or skeptics who are curious about heaven.
Coach Fired For Kneeling in Prayer
Former Washington state high school football coach Joe Kennedy, who was fired for kneeling in prayer, reacted to NFL players' national anthem protests.

"I can't wrap my brain around it," Kennedy said. "I'm a Marine. I want the same rights for everybody else."

Kennedy said the Constitutional right to freedom of expression should apply to all.

He and Martha MacCallum also discussed how former pro quarterback-turned-baseball player Tim Tebow was criticized for kneeling in prayer like Kennedy.

"Everyone has different opinions," Kennedy said. "Being a Marine, we fought to defend [these] rights."
Animal Rights Activists Against Orthodox Jewish Community
LOS ANGELES, California—On early Thursday morning, First Liberty Institute attorneys filed for an emergency protective order in APRL v. City of Los Angeles on behalf of five Orthodox Jewish congregations and their members. The action comes two weeks after the filing of a lawsuit seeking to compel the cities of Los Angeles and Irvine to prevent Orthodox Jews from participating in a millennia-old religious ritual while claiming the right to place individual kaporos participants under “private persons arrest” if the police will not. Last week, activists promised that Orthodox Jews practicing kaporos would not be physically assaulted or threatened with arrest.
Tax Reform
Bold tax reform got a big boost on Wednesday.

Leaders in the House, the Senate, and the White House have all agreed on a tax outline, meaning a true update to our broken tax system could be imminent.

First, the GOP tax plan framework would lower taxes for individual Americans. It would double the standard deduction for individuals and thereby expand the zero-percent bracket, and it would create three income tax brackets (down from seven): 12, 25, and 35 percent, respectively.
NFL and Taking a Knee
If you like professional sports, a major reason -- perhaps THE reason -- you attend games or watch them on TV, is that it helps you escape from whatever occupies your mind the rest of the week. You certainly don't want the issues of the day encroaching on your enjoyment.

The recent exchange of insults between President Trump and some in the National Football League was the latest indication that there is no safe place remaining where one can hide from politics. The game in London between the Baltimore Ravens and the Jacksonville Jaguars was doubly offensive because of the many players who knelt down in protest when "The Star-Spangled Banner" was played, but stood for the British national anthem, "God Save the Queen." Were they unaware of Britain's slave trade history?
Legacy of Hugh Hefner
The bitter fruit of Hefner’s life’s work has helped poison American families.

Hugh Hefner didn’t invent pornography, and it would no doubt be thriving today even if he hadn’t founded Playboy magazine those many years ago. After all, man is fallen, and somebody would have filled that depraved niche in American life. Hefner, however, played his part, and the part he played was immensely destructive to our nation’s cultural, moral, and spiritual fabric. Hefner mainstreamed porn, he put it in millions of homes, and he even glamorized it — recasting one of America’s most pathetic industries as the playground of the sophisticated rich. He then grew to a ripe old age, consorting with women young enough to be his granddaughters. He was America’s most famous dirty old man. And now he’s dead.

May God have mercy on his soul.
