Leaders in Heels
Cannings sets the record straight on how women were foundational to the forward progress of the Kingdom of God in the Old and New Testaments. Take Bathsheba, who educated and sat enthroned next to a king. Mary of Bethany assembled with men and learned at the feet of Jesus, leaving her sister to busy herself with household affairs (for which the Lord commended Mary).

Mary Magdalene braved Golgotha and later trekked, before sunrise, to the tomb. She conversed with angels, was the first to see and talk to the risen Christ ─ and was the first the Lord commissioned to proclaim news of His resurrection. Phoebe, a courier for the Apostle Paul, braved treacherous roads to deliver his letter to the Romans, singular focus blaring.

Indeed, as though aiming to shatter ancient stereotypes, Jesus Christ elevated the status of women during His earthly ministry. The time is now for Christendom to understand and accept the high value the Lord places on women surrendered to Him. This book is a must-read for all believers in Jesus Christ. Thus, it is our prayer that readers approach this book with an open mind ... and heart.

The Dignity of Dependence: A Feminist Manifesto
The Dignity of Dependence aims to liberate women and men from this corrosive and false ideal of the human person as strongest alone. Leah Libresco Sargeant argues that to thrive, human beings need to exist in webs of mutual dependence, not in isolating, radical autonomy. Women’s equal dignity doesn’t require women to deny biological reality or attempt to be interchangeable with men. Sargeant advocates for building a culture that accepts and celebrates women as they are rather than demanding that women keep their relationships and their bodies in check. The fight for women’s dignity is a fight for a full, human dignity―a dignity that isn’t threatened by dependence. It is our need for each other that makes us human.
