Thursday’s Point of View host is our own Kerby Anderson! Kerby is joined on-air by Owen Strachan. Professor Strachan brings us information about his book, “Christianity and Wokeness: How the Social Justice Movement is Hijacking the Gospel – and the Way to Stop It.” In the final hour, he welcomes Fox News Anchor, Shannon Bream. She’ll be on the air to share her book, “The Women of the Bible Speak: The Wisdom of 16 Women and Their Lessons for Today.”
Please call or contact us with your perspective, call 800-351-1212 or you can post a comment or question on Facebook at facebook.com/pointofviewradio.
Owen Strachan is a respected Reformed theologian and thought leader who can help Christians:
+ Better understand Critical Race Theory, something very few do;
+ Understand the high stakes—for the church and society at large—of wokeness as a movement;
+ Think through America’s complex past with nuance and sensitivity;
+ Study how God has made humanity one through the imago Dei;
+ Grasp the beauty of the biblical doctrine of ethnicity and “race”; and
+ Be ready to work for unity in perilous times
Though she spends her days covering politics and the United States Supreme Court, Shannon started her professional life as a sexual harassment attorney. She counts it a great privilege to cover the news of the day at such a pivotal moment in history. Amid the swirl of troubling news from around the globe, her faith is her greatest comfort and hope.
She is a magna cum laude graduate of Liberty University, where she earned her B.S. in Business Management, and was awarded a Juris Doctorate with honors from Florida State University College of Law.
Away from work, Shannon enjoys running, fly fishing, reading and travelling the world with her partner-in-crime: her husband, Sheldon. He once tricked her into running the Pittsburgh Marathon. They live in the Washington, D.C., area with their mischievous lab, Biscuit Bream.
The Women of the Bible Speak outlines the lessons we can take from the valor of Esther, the hope of Hannah, the audacity of Rahab, and the faith of Mary. In broadening each woman’s individual story, Shannon offers us a deeper understanding of each, and wisdom and insights that can transform our own lives today.
