The Politically Incorrect Guide to the American Revolution
The truth about the American Revolution is under attack. Despite what you may have learned in school, it wasn't a rich slaveholder's war fought to "maintain white privilege." In fact, the War of Independence wasn't about maintaining any status quo—it was the world's first successful bottom-up revolution by the people, ushering in a new dawn of liberty that history had never seen before. But with left-wingers dominating the teaching of history, where can you go for the true story of the unprecedented events that made the United States the worlds greatest nation?

Now bestselling historian Larry Schweikart has teamed up with author Dave Dougherty to write the ground-breaking patriotic history you've always wanted to read about the foundation of our unique nation.
Pre-Existing Conditions and Insurance
Fox News contributor Brit Hume said Sunday that Obamacare’s mandate that insurance companies cover those with pre-existing conditions completely undermines the concept of insurance.

“The triumph of ObamaCare is this coverage for pre-existing conditions, which basically defeats the whole idea of insurance,” Hume said. “For example, in the automobile insurance market, if you could wait till you had a wreck and then buy insurance and have the repairs covered, that’s comparable to what we’re doing here.”

He went on to say that the concept of insurance is to protect oneself from any unforeseen risks in the future, not to acquire it once one falls prey to illness. “The idea of insurance is that you purchase it to guard against risks and things that may occur in the future. It’s not that you purchase the coverage after you’re already sick,” Hume said.
Fighting Preemption Measures
AUSTIN — The sunset red granite of the Texas state capitol stands at 302 feet. It towers over nearby Travis County and Austin municipal buildings, as if to convey a physical superiority over those lesser government bodies. When legislators return for a special session this week, they will advance a series of laws that would make that state supremacy more concrete.

Republicans who run Texas are increasingly targeting laws passed by cities and counties with so-called preemption measures, bills that would restrict a local government's power to pass laws regulating certain industries or setting policy. It is part of a national trend in which Republican legislators are moving to preempt local governments, on issues ranging from minimum wage laws to immigration enforcement and even the use of plastic bags at retail establishments.
