Dr. Buck is one of the pastors speaking at Wokeness and the Church, a conference at Denton Bible church this weekend. They’ll talk briefly with Dr. Carletta E. Griffin. Then they will bring us all up to speed with the latest from Washington and around the world. In addition, in the second hour, they’ll talk briefly Sen. Bryan Hughes (R, TX) about Critical Race Theory in the Public Schools. AND they welcome returning guest is Lt. Col. Allen West (Ret.), former Chairman of the Republican Party for the State of Texas.

Charles is happily married to his wife Melanie and they are the proud parents of four children (Megan, Lance, Luke and Leah). He received his Bachelor of Music in 1982 from North Texas State University (now UNT) and his Master of Theology (1994) from Dallas Theological Seminary with an emphasis in Historical Theology.
He presently serves as one of the Executive Pastors at Denton Bible Church where he wears a number of hats including, serving as Director of a Theological institute, coordinating and teaching in the DBC Young Guns Program (an intensive men’s discipleship program), and teaching an adult Sunday School class. He also enjoys regularly teaching through DBC’s Missions program in various parts of the world as well as leading tours to Israel (a total of 15 Tours at this time).
His areas of special teaching interest include Apologetics & Christian Ethics, Creation and Evolution issues, and Christian Worldview. He has taught a three-year comprehensive multi-disciplinary worldview education program to High School aged students each year since 2008. His interest in these areas has opened up opportunities to participate in debates and panel discussions on College Campuses on the Creation and Evolution controversy as well as comparative religion and a variety of ethical issues.

Tom came to FBC Lindale in 2006. He previously served as the Senior Pastor of Riverside Baptist Fellowship in Florida, a position he held for 12 years. He is a graduate of the Moody Bible Institute (B.A. in Pastoral Ministries and New Testament Greek), Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M. in Bible Exposition), and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (D.Min. in Expository Preaching). Tom and his wife Jennifer met at Moody Bible Institute. Jennifer shares Tom’s passion for the local church and the message of God’s grace, and is a godly mother to their three children: Dallas, Madison, and Jackson. Senator Bryan Hughes is now serving his second term in the Texas Senate, representing the 16 counties of Senate District One in Northeast Texas. Before being elected to the Senate in 2016, he represented District Five in the Texas House of Representatives for 14 years.

Born and raised in East Texas, Bryan attended Tyler Junior College and the University of Texas at Tyler, becoming the first in his family to graduate from college. After receiving his BBA in Economics, cum laude, in 1992, he earned his law degree from Baylor University and obtained a prestigious clerkship with U.S. District Judge William Steger. Dr. Carletta E. Griffin is CEO of Dominion Disability Advocates, LLC and serves the greater Detroit area and Nationally to advocate for clients seeking Social Security Disability benefits, she is also an adjunct faculty with University of Detroit Mercy. She was most recently awarded the National Association of Disability Representatives Member of the Year honor for 2020-2021.
As a native Detroiter, Carletta is passionate about her conservative values and giving back to the community that has given so much to her and as an extension of her doctoral dissertation The Role of the African American Church Leadership within the City of Detroit, Carletta has launched a foundation.
