Another exciting Millennial Round Table hosted by Dr. Nick Pitts!

It includes Initiative Network’s Grant Skeldon and Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ Chris Avila. They’ll be discussing current news and issues. Nick will also talk with Luke Zamperini about the movie, Unbroken: The Path to Redemption. Luke tells the continuing story of his father, Louis’s, life.

In response to millennials being labeled noncommittal, cynical, entitled, slacktivists, Grant Skeldon started Initiative Network in order to shift the culture of Dallas by training millennials to be Christ-loving, city-changing, church-investing, disciple-making local missionaries.

Initiative has impacted thousands of young leaders from over 540 different churches across the metroplex. Grant has traveled the globe speaking to over 45,000 pastors, parents, and business leaders on the topic of engaging and empowering millennials. He is currently writing a book that will be published by Zondervan in 2018.

Grant serves on the advisory boards for Harvest America in Dallas and Movement Day Greater Dallas. He is currently a student at Dallas Baptist University. He attends and leads a small group at Mercy Street Church, a multicultural, urban church plant in West Dallas.

Chris is passionate in his devotion to Jesus Christ. He’s had the privilege of traveling the world as a pro sports chaplain, pastor, and motivational speaker, to over 350,000 youth. Chris has been helping people connect with God for over 15 years. His relevant and down to earth teaching style has made him a sought after speaker for camps, churches, pro athletes, entertainers, and conferences.

Born in New Jersey into a struggling family of three, Chris learned the importance of having Faith. Through many setbacks in life, especially losing his Mother at the age of 12, Chris was determined to make something out of his life. Many doors opened for Chris early in his life. He worked for a major mainstream radio station, starred in an independent film and shot various commercials. At the age of 20, Chris felt the call of God. He served on the Chaplaincy team for the Oakland Raiders from 1999-2011, and continues to mentor and speak into the pro athlete community. In May of 2002 Chris gained a bachelor's degree in Church Leadership at Bethany College in Scott's Valley California.

Currently, Chris resides in Ft. Worth, TX where he works for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He’s a husband to his best friend and wife Kristina, and father to two gorgeous girls, Mayah and Aria, and a son, Diego.

Chris loves sports, movie popcorn, white cherry slurpees, working out, traveling, and hanging with his family.

His mission is to impact and inspire this generation to make ethical and moral choices throughout their lifetime based on Biblical truths to impact the culture.
