Drew White is the Senior Editor for The Texan. Most recently, he worked as the senior federal policy analyst at the Texas Public Policy Foundation after spending two years in the U.S. Senate serving as domestic policy advisor for Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX). He also worked as a legislative strategist for Heritage Action for America, the political arm of the Heritage Foundation. He received his Bachelor’s degree in political science from Auburn University and attended graduate school at Tel Aviv University. He currently resides in central Texas with his wife, son, and golden retriever, Emmie.

Business woman Dru Hammer was the corporate secretary and board member of the Armand Hammer Foundation for 22 years. For nine years, she worked with the Los Angeles Dream Center, ministering in women’s discipleship and victims of human trafficking. She is the CEO and founder of Hammeredheart.org, which helps women and children who have gone through difficult times, through divorce and abuse. She is also on the National Board for Childhelp, a non-profit charity aiding victims of child abuse. In 2024, Dru will be launching gethope.ai, an interactive technology platform where she will answer questions about the relevance of the Bible today. Also, on gethope.ai, Dru hosts a one-year walk-through-the-Bible with her listeners in 15 minutes a day. Dru’s greatest inspiration is her father, Douglas Mobley, who was gifted with a healing ministry and spreading the Gospel around the world. In 1985, Dru married Michael Hammer. The couple have two children, actor Armie Hammer and financier Viktor Hammer. She also has two grandchildren, Harper and Ford, who are the loves of her life.

Echo VanderWal and her husband, Harry, lead The Luke Commission, a faith-based NGO providing delivering compassionate, comprehensive healthcare to the most isolated and underserved people in the Kingdom of Eswatini through over 300,000 patient visits per year. All services are provided free to the patient. Echo earned a bachelor’s degree in biology (summa cum laude) from Cedarville University in 1996. In 2011, Cedarville honored the VanderWals with the Alumni of the Year Award. After completing training as a physical assistant at Kettering College of Medical Arts, Echo practiced in surgery until the birth of her triplet sons in 2001. Following the birth of the children, Echo began a successful commercial real estate business, working from home. In 2004, Harry and Echo visited Eswatini, a small country adjacent to South Africa with the highest prevalence of HIV globally, for the first time. After witnessing the devastation of untreated and stigmatized disease, they moved to Eswatini to found TLC and live out their lifelong dream of serving in medical missions in Africa. With deep compassion, leadership acumen, business sense, and a servant’s heart, Echo advocates at the highest levels of leadership in Eswatini for the health of people in Eswatini. Echo has overseen development of TLC’s Miracle Campus from one old barn to more than 25 buildings, including the 130-bed Miracle Campus Hospital providing specialty and critical care. Echo has also coordinated an innovative multi-month onboarding program for over 1,300 participants and championed the construction of Eswatini’s first-ever oxygen production plant during the depths of COVID-19. An editor at large for Christianity Today, Ed was formerly the editor of Today’s Christian magazine and the founding editor of Urban Ministries Inc.’s online magazine, UrbanFaith.com. He is the author of the mini-ebook Remembering Birmingham: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Letter to America—50 Years Later (IVP, April 2013) and the full-length Birmingham Revolution: Martin Luther King Jr.’s Epic Challenge to the Church (IVP, November 2013). In the late 1990s he was associate editor of New Man, the official magazine of the Promise Keepers men’s ministry. In addition to his editorial work, he has written award-winning articles and is the coauthor of the book Gospel Trailblazer: An African-American Preacher’s Historic Journey Across Racial Lines (Moody, 2003)—the autobiography of the late evangelist Howard Jones, the first black associate on Billy Graham’s crusade team.
