Multiple news reports have signaled this week that the United States may be close to a making a deal with Iran. Much is at stake as the negotiations continue. 

Consider

After the United States launched Operation Epic Fury, President Trump laid out clear objectives. They were as follows: 

“First, we’re destroying Iran’s missile capabilities… and their capacity to produce brand new ones — pretty good ones they make. Second, we’re annihilating their navy… Third, we’re ensuring that the world’s number one sponsor of terror can never obtain a nuclear weapon… And finally, we’re ensuring that the Iranian regime cannot continue to arm, fund, and direct terrorist armies outside of their borders.”

Sen. Ted Cruz offered these thoughts on any potential deal, encouraging the president to keep his original objectives in mind: 

“President Trump believes in peace through strength, and his strong leadership has already made America much safer. He should continue to hold the line, defend America & enforce the red lines he has repeatedly drawn.”

There are some conflicting reports about elements a potential deal with Iran would include, but we know the President is likely under pressure to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and bring the war to as swift an end as possible, especially with midterm elections around the corner. Whether or not the United States actually achieves its objectives, any future deal will have important implications for the safety of our nation and the world.

Dear God,

Please protect those members of the U.S. military for however long this war continues.

Surround President Trump and other members of his administration with wise and knowledgeable counselors. 

Thwart the schemes of evil people and evil regimes who would harm innocents and attack our nation and our allies.
